Senior/Lead, Supplier Compliance and Sustainability

Job Description

The Senior/Lead Specialist, Supplier Compliance & Sustainability is responsible for ensuring supplier alignment with Coherent’s Supplier Code of Conduct and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards. The role oversees RBA audit programs, Responsible Minerals sourcing compliance, and sustainability initiatives including GHG reduction and supply chain transparency.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Supplier RBA-criteria Assessment & Improvements
    • Develop and implement RBA audit plans for suppliers, communicating Coherent’s Supplier Code of Conduct and standards.
    • Analyze audit findings, prepare detailed reports, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
    • Track corrective actions, verify closure, and support supplier improvement through training and best practice sharing.
  2. Responsible Minerals
    • Oversee collection, validation, and submission of CMRT, EMRT, and AMRT reports.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to ensure responsible sourcing and mitigate compliance risks.
    • Conduct multi-tier supply chain mapping to trace materials to country of origin and mining sites.
    • Promote responsible sourcing practices through supplier engagement and training programs.
  3. New Supplier Assessment, Supply Chain Sustainability, and Others
    • Conduct compliance and sustainability assessments for new suppliers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
    • Collaborate with third-party platforms during supplier onboarding.
    • Measure and monitor scope 3 GHG emissions, supporting suppliers in target setting and reduction initiatives.
    • Communicate progress on sustainability programs and compliance surveys to internal stakeholders.
    Job Requirements
    Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Environmental Science, Supply Chain Management, Law, EHS, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
    Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, sustainability, or related areas.
  • Experience with RBA/CSR/SER audits and Responsible Minerals Sourcing preferred.
  • Experience in sustainability directives and GHG reduction initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of import/export compliance principles.
    Special Skills
    • In-depth knowledge of RBA standards, responsible minerals regulations, and GHG accounting methodologies.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess audit findings and develop improvement strategies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with suppliers and stakeholders.
    • Project management experience in planning and monitoring compliance or sustainability projects.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions
Hybrid work arrangement with travel to suppliers for assessments, audits, and corrective action verification.
