Position Overview:
The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in the efficient management of materials, equipment, and logistics operations for interior fit-out and IBS projects. This role ensures that project sites receive the right materials and components — such as joinery items, MEP fittings, IBS panels, fixtures, and finishing materials — in a timely and organized manner. The position requires close coordination with project, procurement, and site teams to maintain inventory accuracy, support just-in-time deliveries, and uphold quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse & Inventory Management
Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and dispatching materials related to interior fit-out and IBS projects.
Ensure proper handling and segregation of materials such as finishing products, electrical components, ceiling systems, furniture, and IBS modules.
Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or warehouse management systems.
Conduct periodic physical stock checks and reconcile any discrepancies.
Ensure optimal utilization of storage space and proper labeling for easy traceability.
- Material Planning & Coordination
Coordinate closely with procurement and project teams to plan material deliveries based on project schedules and site requirements.
Assist in preparing material delivery schedules and tracking deliveries to site.
Monitor consumption and support reordering based on usage trends and project demands.
Ensure timely return of unused or excess materials from site for restocking or transfer. - Quality Control & Documentation
Inspect incoming materials for quantity and quality compliance as per purchase orders and technical specifications.
Maintain all related documentation such as Delivery Notes, Goods Received Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips, and Transfer Notes.
Support audits and provide accurate inventory and material movement reports to management. - Logistics & Dispatch
Coordinate with transport providers for inbound and outbound material deliveries.
Schedule and monitor deliveries to project sites, ensuring minimal delays and optimized logistics routing.
Verify and track all dispatched materials and tools until received and acknowledged at site. - Team Supervision & Safety
Supervise and train warehouse assistants, forklift operators, and helpers to ensure efficient operations.
Enforce proper safety practices in handling, lifting, and storage of materials and tools.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse according to 5S standards.
Support implementation of company HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse operations within the construction, interior fit-out, or IBS/manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of fit-out materials (joinery, finishes, gypsum, electrical & plumbing items, fixtures) and IBS components.
Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management or ERP software.
Understanding of HSE and quality compliance standards for construction materials handling.
