Material Control Supervisor

Job Description

  1. Plan, monitor, and control material flow to support production schedules.
  2. Ensure timely issuance of materials to production based on BOM and work orders.
  3. Coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, and Production teams to prevent material shortages or excess inventory.
  4. Monitor critical and long-lead-time materials.

Inventory Management

  1. Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/WMS systems.
  2. Oversee cycle counts, stock takes, and inventory reconciliation.
  3. Ensure adherence to FIFO / FEFO practices and shelf-life control.
  4. Monitor inventory accuracy, slow-moving, obsolete, and excess (SMO) materials.

Warehouse & Material Handling

  1. Supervise receiving, storage, kitting, and issuing of materials.
  2. Ensure proper handling and storage of electronic components, including ESD-sensitive items.
  3. Oversee labeling, traceability, and location management.
  4. Coordinate material transfers between warehouse and production areas.

Team Supervision & Leadership

  1. Supervise and guide material control and store personnel.
  2. Assign daily tasks and monitor performance and productivity.
  3. Train team members on material control procedures, ESD, and system usage.
  4. Enforce discipline, safety, and company policies.

Quality, ESD & Compliance

  1. Ensure compliance with ESD control, ISO, and company SOPs.
  2. Support internal and external audits, including customer and ISO audits.
  3. Investigate material-related non-conformances and support corrective actions.
  4. Maintain proper documentation and records.

Reporting & Coordination

  1. Prepare material status reports, inventory reports, and shortage lists.
  2. Escalate material risks and issues to management promptly.
  3. Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse, and logistics teams when required.
  4. Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, Kaizen).
