Job Description
-Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. –Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
-Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Finance Manager in developing annual budgets and forecasts for the manufacturing operations. Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
-Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and cost-benefit analysis for manufacturing processes, products, and projects. Identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate profitability, and provide recommendations for improving operational efficiency.
-Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliation, and cycle count processes. Collaborate with the production team to ensure accurate inventory records and minimize discrepancies.
-Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls. Assist in the preparation of tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting. Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
-Financial Systems and Processes: Continuously review and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Participate in system implementation or upgrade projects to support financial operations.
-Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as operations, procurement, and sales, to gather financial data, resolve issues, and provide financial insights. Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors and tax consultants, to ensure smooth operations.
-Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance staff. Assist in training programs to enhance the team’s knowledge and skills in accounting and finance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-Proven experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
-Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
-Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems.
-Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis and modeling.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
-Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations is desirable.
